  • Receive an introduction to Self Compassion and why we should have more love and compassion for ourselves.
  • Learn a simple practice of Loving Kindness and how we can apply it to ourselves.
  • Explore what Compassion for Others “Is” and “Is Not”, including research on “Compassion Fatigue”.
  • Explore extending Loving Kindness to others to help us remain open hearted in caring situations we may find difficult.
  • Receive a simple introduction to mindfulness meditation.
  • Have the opportunity to participate in group discussion around our own experiences of compassion
  • Have time for rest, relaxation and enjoying nature.

During this weekend John will guide an exploration of compassion from practical, scientific, experiential and Buddhist perspectives. He will also introduce meditation practices from the Buddhist tradition which help us cultivate more compassion and understanding in our everyday lives, for both ourselves and others. Interactive exercises will help to sharpen our understanding and deepen our insights.

This retreat is suitable for people new to Dzogchen Beara as well as regular visitors and will include introductions to Meditation and Loving Kindness practice.

It’s our connections with other people that really do matter most in life, yet in this modern world we can experience just as much loneliness, anxiety, stress and uncertainty as ever before. On this weekend you will learn some simple yet profound methods to reconnect with yourself, while extending that same sense of well-being to touch those you come in contact with in everyday life. We hope that you can join us.
