Discovering our Basic Goodness

Easter Retreat

Practical details

Date
11am Friday 2nd to 1pm Monday 5th April
Fee €260.00
Reduced fee €200.00
Presented or led by
Andrew Warr

In this stressful and competitive world many of us live with a persistent sense of unworthiness, low self-esteem or a feeling of being ill-at-ease. We judge ourselves harshly and may feel anxious, driven, lonely or depressed. Such attitudes deprive us of happiness and peace of mind and may damage our physical wellbeing.

How different from the Buddhist point of view that asserts our basic nature is in fact compassionate and wise! Disturbing emotions and attitudes are seen as impermanent and superficial – temporarily covering this essential goodness – just as the clouds sometimes cover the sun.

This positive perspective is the starting point for a profound healing of the distress and fear we carry. Through practices such as meditation and loving kindness we begin to make friends with ourselves and reconnect with the potential for peace, love and confidence within us all.

This retreat is open to everyone and will include video teachings by Sogyal Rinpoche, instruction in meditation and loving kindness practice, and opportunities for personal reflection and discussion.

Presenter: Andrew Warr

Fee: €260 (Concession €200) includes daily lunch and evening meal from lunch on Friday through to lunch on Monday.

“Thanks for a memorable weekend. I am inspired to practice meditation as a way to find true contentment in my life.” | Helen, Limerick
