“Loving kindness is a form of love that truly is an ability, and, as research scientists have shown, it can be learned." Sharon Salzberg

Loving kindness is a meditation that cultivates our natural capacity for an open and loving heart. It is traditionally offered with meditations that enrich compassion, and joy in the happiness of others, and also deepen our own sense of peace.

These practices lead to the development of concentration, connection, fearlessness, and genuine happiness.

Sharon Salzberg will introduce these teachings and support us in our own experience and cultivation of these qualities through direct instruction and guided meditation using classical techniques in a modern idiom.

There will also be opportunities for questions.

This retreat is suitable for both new and experienced meditators from all traditions.

Fee includes lunch and evening meal, beginning with lunch on Saturday 2nd and ending with lunch on Friday 8th.

Weekend option - 8pm Friday 1st to 1pm Monday 4th

The ancient Buddhist practices of vipassana (mindfulness) and metta (lovingkindness) are the foundations of her work. "Each of us has a genuine capacity for love, forgiveness, wisdom and compassion. Meditation awakens these qualities so that we can discover for ourselves the unique happiness that is our birthright."
