Practised in China by young and old alike for over a thousand years Medical Qigong is a complete healthcare system. Its gentle flowing movements, integrated breathing and meditative awareness invigorates our natural healing ability bringing an enhanced experience of wellbeing and physical fitness.

Renowned in China as being remarkably effective as a comprehensive Qigong for prevention and treatment of common illnesses.Having just 8 movements this most popular form of Qigong is simple to learn yet offers a powerful means to develop good health, vitality and longevity.

Complementing and supporting other systems of personal healthcare such as Tai Chi, Yoga, Pilates, Meditation etc.,. While this weekend is a continuation of the August QiGong weekend, it is also suitable for beginners who are most welcome.

The retreat will be held in our clifftop shrine room, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering spectacular ocean views.

Delicious two course vegetarian lunches, with soup and bread in the evenings. Cooked with love at Dzogchen Beara, using homegrown and organic ingredients whenever possible. Tea and coffee.

Tony Walsh
Tony WalshQiGong Teacher
Tony Walsh started Qigong practice in 1974, which led him to take up meditation in the following year. He also took up took up Shiatsu Massage which led to his interest in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

Tony studied macrobiotic cookery and was one of the founders of The Golden Dawn, Ireland’s first natural wholefood restaurant and shop, in Dublin. The ‘East West Centre’ there hosted courses on: nutrition, wholefoods, Japanese Dao Yin Qigong, Yoga, Meditation, Tai Chi, Aiedo, Aikido, Dowsing and Shiatsu Massage.

Tony studied acupuncture with the Acupuncture Foundation and following his qualification in 1989 subsequently did his clinicals in The Institute of Acupuncture in Colombo, Sri Lanka. From 1982 to 1999 Tony continued to study and practice Qigong, Meditation and Hatha Yoga, interspersed with regular retreats in these disciplines in Ireland, U.K., France, India, Sikkim and Nepal.

In 2001, Tony graduated from the Post-graduate Medical Herbalist course in Milltown College with the Acupuncture Foundation, completing his clinical experience in Nanjing University Hospitals, China. He completed a two year Teacher Training Course in Wild Goose (Da Yan) Medical Qigong in 2015 with the Shulan College of Chinese Medicine U.K and a Teacher Training Course for Classical Medical Qigong forms, with the Qigong Teachers Association U.K. in 2017.
