SUMMARY:Mountain Stream Practice - October
DESCRIPTION:Mountain Stream Practice\nKum Nye Tibetan Yoga and Meditation – Suitable for Beginners \nIn this retreat we will experience how through movement we can discover a greater stillness – and how in that stillness we come alive. \nBased on traditional Tibetan healing practices\, and suitable for all ages and fitness levels\, Kum Nye’s movement and breathing exercises restore the body’s natural rhythms and calm the mind. \nThrough presentations\, reflections and guided practice we will explore what it means – and feels like – to “find your flow” both in meditation and in everyday life. \nWhat Mountain Stream Practice is\n\nA very effective gateway to meditation for beginners\, while for more seasoned practitioners it will be an opportunity to deepen their practice\nBy calming the restless flow of thoughts and opening our senses we can fully appreciate the natural environment – what better place to be than Dzogchen Beara!\nPractising ways to integrate meditative awareness in our everyday life.\n\nWhat people say about Mountain Stream Practice\n“Kum Nye is new to me and I am enthralled at it’s application and benefits. To intersperse the sitting meditation and Kum Nye exercises is a real plus plus!”\n– Marie \n“I’ve really taken to the Kum Nye and grateful to have been introduced to its gentle and powerful ways”\n– Gabriella \n“Thanks for the great Kum Nye exercises… I was very taken by their simplicity and effectiveness.”\n– Maria \nLocation\nThe retreat will be held in our Temple\, which is a modern example of a traditional Tibetan monastery designed to be an inspiring symbol of the Buddha’s teachings for our times.

SUMMARY:Mind\, Body & Spirit - November
DESCRIPTION:Mind\, Body & Spirit\nA Self-Care Retreat for Family Carers and Care Professionals\nAttending to our own needs and wellbeing can be hard while caring for others. This retreat invites family carers and care professionals to take time away\, reconnect with themselves and nourish mind\, body and spirit. \nWe offer this retreat on the basis of Dāna (Generosity) as it is our heartfelt wish that our programme is easily accessible\, and we are aware of the stress and difficult times all those who are caring for others are experiencing. \nMind\, Body and Spirit offers you the space to experience the healing power of mindfulness and self-compassion practices. The retreat also includes Kum Nye – gentle movement and breathing exercises – suitable for all ages and fitness levels – that restore the body’s natural rhythms and calm the mind. \nEach day will include guided meditations\, Kum Nye (tibetan yoga)\, short talks & discussions as well as periods of silence to allow you to fully relax into the retreat. \n\nThe spacious schedule allows time to be in nature\, to rest and to enjoy nourishing meals together.\nThe retreat will be held at the Spiritual Care Centre and is limited to 16 people. Participants are encouraged to book early.\nThe retreat is suitable for both newcomers to meditation and more experienced meditation practitioners.\n\nPay a catering fee only\nThere is a catering fee of € 100 to cover your meals (two course vegetarian lunches\, with soup and bread in the evenings\, and tea and coffees from Tuesday to Thursday). \nDzogchen Beara is a not-for-profit charity and all of our income goes directly to supporting the Dharma (Buddhist teachings) and all who benefit from the Spiritual Care Centre. When you book\, please consider making a donation. \nWhat people say about Mind\, Body and Spirit\n“Having worked as a therapist for the last 12 years\, I know the importance of self-care. Working non-stop through Covid left me feeling depleted\, however\, having spent three days on a retreat for professional carers\, I feel so nourished cared for and replenished. An amazing place run by amazing people. A must do for anyone needing respite or renewal”.\n– Niamh Connolly\, Psychotherapist \nLocation\nThe retreat will be held in the clifftop shrine room of the Spiritual Care Centre\, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering spectacular ocean views.
