Core Responsibilities:

Our Reception & Administration staff are usually the first point of contact for guests and visitors and are central to offering a welcoming environment at Dzogchen Beara. They work closely with all operational departments and are at the core of our Welcome Team. 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Responding to enquiries from visitors and guests, in person or via telephone or email. 
  • Facilitating accommodation reservations in person, via telephone or email, for the Hostel, Holiday Cottages, and Spiritual Care Centre. 
  • Facilitating event bookings in person or via telephone or email 
  • Maintaining and updating the Booking System with event and booking information
  • Processing payments & refunds for accommodation & event bookings, and gift cards.
  • Reconciliation of cash & card payments made at Reception.
  • Provide administrative support for events as required 
  • Supporting and liaising with on-site staff & volunteers regarding administration needs as required
  • Maintaining office supplies
  • Adhering to administration requirements relating to policies and procedures.

Required skills and experience:

  • Proven experience in a customer-focused environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong customer service focus, requiring sensitivity and patience when dealing with people.
  • Technical skills – proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, and willingness & capacity to work with the Booking systems.
  • Ability to work flexibly as part of a team in a dynamic and busy environment.
  • A high level of organisational skills, attention to detail, process oriented 
  • A warm and friendly disposition with a respect for the Tibetan Buddhist tradition and ethos as held by Dzogchen Beara. 
  • Willingness to abide by data protection guidelines and maintain confidentiality with respect to personal information

Since the opening of the temple at Dzogchen Beara, there is a need to expand and develop our practice team. With this in mind, we are seeking to recruit passionate Practice Team Assistants who wish to develop their knowledge and understanding of Vajrayana practice.

This is an evolving role with an opportunity for development in one or more aspects of Vajrayana practice including shrine ritual, practice co-ordination, and/or umdze activities and musical instruments.

A wonderful opportunity for a Rigpa Sangha member to join the retreat team at the spiritual heart of Dzogchen Beara, looking after people in personal, group and long-term retreats.

The Retreat Attendant works closely with the Retreat Manager to look after long-term retreatants and people doing shorter personal retreats in both Longchen (Dzogchen Beara’s long-term retreat house) and in Centre House.

The Retreat Attendant’s primary focus is on making sure retreatants have a comfortable stay at Dzogchen Beara.
