The Dzogchen Beara community offers a place of refuge and healing supportive to the awakening of innate wisdom, love and compassion, open to all.
Our aim is to offer everyone who comes to Dzogchen Beara the opportunity to connect with the possibility of awakening to our true nature, the innermost nature of mind.
What does our name mean?
‘Dzogchen’ is a Tibetan word referring to the most ancient and direct stream of wisdom within the Buddhist tradition of Tibet.
Sogyal Rinpoche was struck by the fact that the sound of the name of this peninsula (Beara) sounds like the English word ‘bearer’, the one who carries. Inspired by this he named the Centre Dzogchen Beara, to identify here as a place that upholds the Dzogchen lineage, “the heart-essence of all spiritual paths and the summit of an individual’s spiritual evolution”.
