The ancient Pali word dāna, meaning generosity or giving, expresses a simple and enduring gesture of appreciation and gratitude. For more than 2,500 years, the teachings of the Buddha have been sustained through this spirit of generosity.

If you value the wisdom and compassion of this tradition, the practice of dāna offers an opportunity for you to support making these teachings available to all, and to help ensure they continue to benefit future generations.

At its heart, generosity is itself a spiritual practice. By giving freely, we gradually loosen the grip of self-centredness and cultivate care and compassion for others. There is no fixed amount to give. What matters is simply giving according to one’s own means and inspiration.

Donations are essential for Dzogchen Beara. They help support the running costs of the centre, the living expenses of our resident community, retreats and teachings, and our efforts to make these available to as many people as possible while remaining financially sustainable. In this way, they allow this place of refuge and practice to continue serving many people each year.

A donation to our Annual Fund allows us to use your gift where the need is greatest. You may also choose to support funds focused on particular aspects of our activities that inspire you most.

However you choose to support Dzogchen Beara, we are deeply grateful for your generosity.

Generosity is the most natural outward expression of an inner attitude of compassion and loving-kindness.
