Loving Kindness – Setting the Heart Free
In today’s fast-paced world, information overload and daily pressures can leave us feeling anxious, lonely, and emotionally guarded. When life gets overwhelming, our hearts naturally close up. But there is a powerful way to break free from this cycle.
First taught by the Buddha over 2,500 years ago, Loving-Kindness meditation is one of the most ancient and transformative practices in the Buddhist tradition. Known in the Pali language as metta, it is the practice of cultivating an unconditional friendliness and warmth toward ourselves and all living beings. It is an active training of the heart, acting as a direct antidote to fear, anger, loneliness, and self-criticism.
The practice follows a deliberate, step-by-step framework to expand our capacity for love toward ourselves and others. Love in this context is the cultivation of a steady, open-hearted wish for the happiness and well-being of all beings—including ourselves. In a world that can feel so divided, Loving-Kindness meditation remains a gentle yet profound tool of transformation, reconnecting us with the immeasurable treasure of love within us.
During this weekend retreat, you will:
- Step-by-step exploration of the progressive stages of Loving Kindness (metta) practice.
- Personal guidance and group
- Create a practical plan to integrate loving-kindness into your modern daily life.
Everyone is welcome—a gentle exploration of the practice suitable for beginners and a refresh for experienced meditators looking to deepen their practice.
