The Dalai Lama says that there are two kinds of happiness: one based mainly on physical comfort; the other based on mental peace and contentment. Explore these two kinds of happiness and see how we can develop this more enduring mental peace and contentment through the practice of meditation.

The morning will comprise a mixture of presentations, guided meditations and small group discussions.

Veronica Nicholson

Veronica first learned to meditate in 1996 when she went on her first retreat to Dzogchen Beara. Since then she has continued studying and practicing in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, and completed two one-year closed retreats in Dzogchen Beara in 2004 and 2024. Learning to meditate changed her life and this inspired her to train as a meditation instructor, and since 2001 she has been helping on retreats in Dzogchen Beara and other Rigpa centres around Ireland. Veronica worked as a photographer for nearly 40 years, and currently lives and works in Dzogchen Beara as part of the practice team.
