Empowering your Voice with Compassion

Bringing Love and Healing to Ourselves and the World
with Corrine Ewen
Friday May 9, 7.30pm to Sunday 11 May, 1pm

Our true voice is compassionate. By returning to essential hearing, breathing and vocal expression, we find ourselves more able to rest in our authentic being, and to hear ourselves – and the world – from that spaciousness. Restoring ease and resonance to ourselves, we can then direct our voices with compassion to send love and healing to the world—and in particular, through the powerful practice of mantra.

Corinne is returning to Dzogchen Beara with her distinctive approach to compassion and voice. This new weekend retreat will draw from her transformative training in voice work—a body of exercises based in deep understandings common to the contemplative and performing traditions of the world.

In this retreat, you’ll learn specific and unique practices developed by Corinne, inspired by what the human voice reveals about us during her years as a professional singer/singing teacher and Tibetan Buddhist practitioner.

During the retreat, we’ll be:

  • trying out exercises (sometimes amidst the breathtaking cliff-top scenery surrounding the temple – weather allowing),
  • nourishing ourselves with Loving Kindness practice,
  • learning mantras of Compassion from the Tibetan Buddhist tradition,
  • chanting them to bring healing for the world
  • time for resting and taking it all in, along with enjoyable breaks.

You don’t need to be a singer, or have any experience of voice work or mantra to benefit from this weekend. Anyone with a wish to explore this is very welcome!

The benefits of exploring and freeing your breath and your voice to communicate with and benefit others will be personally yours to discover, but many people who’ve trained in this approach report that they find

  • Greater ease in vocal communication
  • More ability to find restfulness even amidst stressful situations
  • A more healthy and joyful sense of being.
