Weekdays: Monday – Friday, 10am – 1pm & 2pm – 5pm.

Cafe/Shop

Open daily all year round, 9:30am – 5pm.

Please note, the Temple may be closed to visitors during retreats and other events. Check the signs for details.

Free Loving Kindness Guided Meditation

Monday – Friday 2:15pm – 3pm

Please note there is no guided meditation on Bank Holidays.

Saturdays at 1.45pm; this is an opportunity to view the first and only Tibetan Buddhist Temple in Ireland, and to hear about how it came to be here on the Beara peninsula. Our guide Matt and his team will explain the unique architecture, sacred decoration, images and statues.

The visit is free but you are welcome to make a donation.

From Castletownbere to Dzogchen Beara

Bus: Route 232 Route 232

Cost: Single Adult ticket costs €3

There is now a new bus route (Route 232) that will drop you at the driveway to Dzogchen Beara. The route will operate 4 daily return services, 7 days a week. You can take this 15 minute bus ride from Castletownbere (Fire Station) and ask the driver to let you off at Dzogchen Beara. After you get off the bus there is a short 10 minutes walk to the Centre.

Please note that due to the size of the entrance through our gate pillars on the road into our centre, we can only accommodate max 32 seater buses. If you have any enquirers please contact our office on +353 27 73032 or by email: info@dzogchenbeara.org.

The Café and Gift Shop is open daily from 9:30am – 5pm serving hot drinks and food, light lunch, cakes and more. We also have ocean-view outdoor seating available.

Everyone is welcome to join us for a delicious vegetarian lunch, served daily from 1pm to 2pm in our shrine room. Lunches must be reserved and paid for the day before in our Cafe or Administration Office by calling us on 3532773032.

Camping and Camper-vans

Unfortunately camping is not possible at Dzogchen Beara. Overnight staying in our carpark is also not allowed. Find out about nearest options here.
